Durant FCA’s Cade Buchanan & Catherine McCraw – “I Am Second” – Presented by Stuteville Chevrolet of Durant

While the mindset of the world is that of a “me first” process, the day-to-day efforts of Cade Buchanan and Catherine McCraw of Durant revolve around finding a way to make someone else’s day be filled with sunshine and hope. And because of their generous spirit of service to others, Fellowship of Christian Athletes recently honored the Durant duo.

Buchanan’s athletic success is well defined in football, basketball, and baseball while in the classroom the 2019 graduate not only is a member of the Principal’s honor roll but also earned the Champion of Character award along with Student Council Leadership and Kiwanis Senior of the Month honors.

Buchanan continuously would take an active roll in the FCA meetings at Durant including attending Extreme Camp.

Buchanan will continue his athletic endeavors on a baseball scholarship to Eastern State College in Wilburton.

Known to almost everyone as Catie, McCraw is a member of the Lady Lions cross-country and track teams and the Lions FCA chapter. With a continual focus on academic achievement, McCraw is a member of the National Honor Society and her service to others also includes serving as secretary for the District 4 Student Council efforts. McCraw also was chosen to attend Girls State prior to her senior year.

The 2019 DHS graduate took an active part in the activities of the FCA chapter including attending both competitors and Xtreme camps.

With Pistols Firing, Catie plans to attend Oklahoma State University where she will be one of only 125 members of the Presidential Leadership Council.
