Ada’s Dalton Carson – Character Counts Presented by First United Bank of Ada

By Ryan Stone

The Ada Character Counts honor goes to Dalton Carson a senior football player for the Cougars. This season Carson is expected to get playing time at both strong safety and wide receiver for Ada. The Cougars are expected to have a great season this fall and that has Carson and his teammates setting high expectations.

“The team goal is always to win state, but to start out we want to win district and if we can win our first two games at home, we should be set to make a deep playoff run,” said Carson.

The Cougars open the season with home games against Ardmore and Noble. With it being his senior season Carson and his fellow seniors know it’s time for them to lead.

“I think all the seniors are the leaders of the team,” said Carson, “I think we’ll go as far as the leadership that the seniors provide carries us this season.”

Character is clearly something that means a lot to Carson.

“I see character as It’s not only individual but it’s also the attitude that the team takes on. Character is how people see you whether that’s good or bad. Ada we are known for being tough, we don’t do dirty stuff, but we’re just tough and proud on the field,” said Carson.

Outside of football Carson also plays soccer at Ada. He is a standout in the classroom holding a 4.0 GPA. Dalton is also part of the robotics and academic teams. He is also a member of the Math and Science clubs. After graduation this Spring Carson plans to attend the University of Oklahoma to major in Aeronautical Engineering. He hopes to one day be a private contractor making drones for the military.

Dalton Carson is well deserving of the Ada Character Counts honor.
